Mechanical Requirements

Preferred Materials
We prefer Quark files for Macintosh electronically either via e-mail, uploaded to our server or on a CD-Rom disk. E-mail delivery is acceptable for B&W ads. Please fax a hard copy. Use self-extracting format for transmission, include all artwork, fonts, and linked scans. 

*** Printer is not responsible for errors in output due to incorrect file preparation or incorrect file compression. Client will incur extra charges if necessary to ready files for printing.

Software
QuarkXPress, PageMaker, Illustrator, PhotoShop, Freehand. Use latest versions whenever possible.

File Formats
EPS, TIFF, JPEG, PDF.

Fonts
Postscripts (screen/printer) and Trutype must be supplied. Any supplied PC font will be matched with comparable MAC font.

Color Calibration
SWOP standards. Color builds must be saved in CMYK format. Do not use Pantone or RGB. Please supply color proof for all color ads.

Resolution
All images (grayscale and color scans) 300 dpi 133-line printing at 100%. Scanned B&W line art minimum resolution of 900 dpi, 1200 dpi preferred. 4-color 150-line screen.

Minimum height & weight: 4 3/4 inches, including head trim, 60# or 10-point cover stock. 
Maximum height & weight: 11 1/8 inches including head and foot trim, 80# text.
Business Reply: 7-point or 65# cover stock. Must meet USPS regulations. Printer will reject inserts that do not meet the requirements.
